"Sadly, this hotel has gone down quite a bit since we stayed here last. Where do I begin? The lobby is now closed except for three hours in the morning (for breakfast) - which I understand is due to the pandemic. However, any contact with the front desk must now be done through a little window they cut in the side of the building.
There is no phone in the room so if you need to reach the front desk you have to call them from your personal phone.
We're here for three nights and I've had to have my room keys fixed twice. I've rarely had this problem anywhere else.
We only got about ten channels on our TV in the room, not even basic cable. The TV was set for considerably more channels so you had to scroll through all the channels you don't get to find the few that you do.
There are no outlets near the bed, not good if you have a medical device you need to plug in or a phone so you can tell what time it is since there is no clock. The lamps on either side of the bed aren't plugged in to an outlet, they're spliced in to some wires that come out of the wall.
The bathroom sink had quite a bit of rust on it and the bathtub looked like it was recently pulled from a salvage yard.
I realize the hotel has little control over their guests but the smell of Marijuana that eminates from other rooms is often overpowering.
This used to be a decent hotel for the price. Sadly, we feel like we overpaid this time and most likely will look for a new place to stay when we visit. This hotel definitely feels like it's on life support."
"Charming simplicity with a awesome staff.
Great location.
Reasonably quiet. Comfortable nights sleep with bedding being nice and cozy. And the room always smelled fresh. Breakfast offerings were perfect and cheerfully served
with an attentive effort to please the guests. I will return and have recommended this little gem to many."
"Was in town for the Easter weekend decided to seek out a local “dive” bar and found The Wheel, friendly place good strong “dive bar” drinks, definitely my kind of place...!"
