"I am writing this review in response to a woman who complained about a bird drinking from the pool. Several exotic (to me) birds descended into the shady and private pool area, standing beside the pool while I was relaxing by the pool. I found this to be charming. In fact, my husband and I felt like our stay at the Anna Maria Island Beach Resort was a precious piece of paradise that we often talk about and remember our stay there (April 2016) with the fondest of memories. Very comfortable beds. Private patio areas. A sandy path beckons guests to follow it to the beach, a very short distance away. Richard took my reservations and answered all my questions before I booked. He was very helpful. He was around if we needed him but didn't hover. We arrived earlier than expected, and Richard permitted us to check in early. He was very gracious. We loved it there and earnestly hope to go back some day."

"I haven't been to Marion in 4 years or more but I sure did have a great time at the shack. Nothing fancy, just drinks and good food. Also, a nice porch to sit on. I don't know when, but I'll be back."

"Checked in and went to room and the room was filthy. The first room the toilet wasn't even bolted to the floor correctly. The door was nasty the table looked like someone was snoring drugs off of it and she'll of mold. The second room was no better than the first one. Nasty stuff on the beds and floor smelled bad."
