"While I'm posting this review on an account named something other than my actual name to avoid slander, I went to Screaming Needles for a navel piercing as they're raved about highly within our community. I had previously gone to them before and had no problems getting my nose pierced. Unfortunately, that's not the case with this navel piercing. At first I thought the piercing was placed higher due to my anatomy (I have what is called a collapsed navel). I researched deeply to try and justify the piercing and how it was placed. I came across a piercing term called a, "floating navel" which would've been the proper piercing due to my anatomy. While this term would seem correct for the piercing he had given me, it is not correct. He used a regular navel piercing type of jewelry which would've caused it to reject if it was a floating navel as it would've needed a flat-bottomed piece of jewelry. This "navel piercing" was actually a surface piercing due to how highly and shallowly it was placed. Although a surface piercing would've been fine with my anatomy structure, the proper jewelry was not used and ultimately would've rejected.
As someone who has piercings, you're always asked if you like the placement. While being a first-time navel piercing receiver and not knowing anyone within my social circle, I was unaware of where it should've been placed and look at it, it seemed to be placed properly within my POV.
As a reputable piercer he should've either a.) Told me anatomy was incorrect for the piercing and denied the piercing, b.) Suggested a floating navel and/or surface piercing to adhere to my anatomy and suggested another parlor who offers those services, or c.) Found another way to position the piercing.
This piercing was set up for rejection, and it's honestly quite disappointing as they're known to be reputable for piercings in our area.
If you're going for a piercing, be hesitant when going to Screaming Needles as I'd wish I would have. Do your research beforehand as I didn't know specific anatomy was needed for a navel piercing to be preformed, and he should've informed me as well."
"Great shop, great artists, great people, and overall excellent experience. My husband and I had a simple line art design that was near and dear to us, and we worked with Tiffiny to make it a permanent piece for both of us. She was wonderful, very open and honest with regards to choosing the best possible locations and orientation for us both, making sure we voiced our ideas and opinions and that we comfortable with our choices before getting to work. We had some color ideas, but Tiffiny definitely opened up more possibilities than we'd thought of and really brought the design to life; it turned out just perfect! So the open communication was really important and appreciated, we were never pushed or felt rushed to a decision, and the whole process was very pleasant. The tattoos are fully healed and look fantastic; we are so happy with them! The environment was very cozy, comfortable, and clean. Hygiene practices were meticulous, and while we did not work directly with January or Jason, we interacted with both, and everyone was very friendly and the environment relaxed. I highly recommend checking this place out, and do plan to return!"
"I got my nostril pierced here about 3-4 years ago and it was great. I was only 14 but Eric really made it comfortable and not so scary. Also, very sanitary. He used new needles and showed me what he was using and how they worked. Very good experience; I even plan on getting a tattoo here very soon as well."
