"These guys are always pleasant and have very reasonable prices. Where else are you going to go? A gas station if you want to pay out the wazoo??"
"VERY pleased with my experience here. Personally, when it comes to ink, I'm big on the spiritual aspect of the process. I had heard many good things about a tattoo place on Frog Level - yet when I arrived, was dismayed to learn there are two! which one?? For me -- its all about cleanliness, professionalism & does it "feel right" -- the connection with the artist who'll be doing the ink. Here's why I decided Forbidden Color is the "right one" 1) While waiting, I listened & observed a young lady getting her 1st tattoo. The ENTIRE staff - (not all at once) was very patient & supportive of her. Answering all her questions, & at various intervals in their conversations, whoever she was speaking to at the moment, always allowed an "out" in the conversation - so she could back out at anytime & still save face. If I didn't know better, I'd suspect she was the little sister of one of them by the way they handled her with kid gloves. KUDOS! No ink bullies here! 2) The place was spotless. Not just the usual sterile equipment (fresh needles etc) the floor was spic & span, no visible dust, no smoke smells. 3) There were no 'cheat sheets' covering the walls. ie sample art. This encourages the recipient to really think about what type of tattoo they want, not just pick something out off the wall at random on a whim. 4) Although I'm clearly over 21, all the proper regulations were followed. Id verified & consent forms 5) They offer gift certificates & accept cash/plastic 6) There is plenty of room in the inking area. Your welcome to bring a friend to hold your hand. They also have partitions if you are choosing to get your ink in a 'delicate' area - so you have more privacy. Even without a partition, the inking area is shielded from street view. And Lucky 7) They're just so dang nice! I had an instant connection with my artist and he was really fun to chat with, I was almost sad when he was done as my visit was coming to a close. The experience was that epic. AND -- if that's not enough to convince you this is the correct place - there is clearly the absence of an "automotive component" influence - in fact - chit chat about auto mechanic parts should be kept to a minimum, better yet, don't mention it at all. There are two spiritual paths on Frog Level -- for me, I choose to walk in light & love and this is the shop my feet led me too. I'm not adding a pic of the art, 'cause it's kinda personal & I don't want it on the web. besides, it needs a few days to look it's best - the natural healing process. EDIT: Photos are of my SECOND tat - by my American Ink Artist, Coleman. Thrilled - simply thrilled with results! Have rescheduled my return trip just to get more work done here. Thanks so very much for the kind professionalism and inking perfection. two thumbs up!(edit Dec 7, 2021 look how well the colors are holding up over time!!! )"
